Wayne Vanderway born in Texarkana, TX on May 4, 1937 entered into rest on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the age of 80 years. He is preceded in death by his mother Sarah Elizabeth Brian McGhee & step father Robert Thomas McGhee.
Wayne worked as a heavy machine operator with Colglazier Construction for 31 years then later Yantis for 15 years before retiring in 2006. He love boating, camping, fishing & BBQ gatherings with the family. Wayne is survived by his loving wife Lois of 59 years. 5 children: Patricia Ann Ledesma, Diane Diaz & spouse Dan, Roxiane Kerns & spouse Charles, Suzanne Vanderway, and Elizabeth Gonzales. There are 11 grandchildren: Jason, Daniel Jr., Charles Jr., Amber, Jonathan, Serena, Matthew, Alyssa, Katrina, Michael, Jacob and 13 great grandchildren.
Wayne was known to his family and friends as hard working & very outspoken. The family would like to thank the Team at hospice Compassus for their compassion & support, especially to Erin Bell his nurse for her friendship, dedication & loving care of our father.
The family will be receiving visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Heritage Oaks Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. with Chaplain Mark Raya officiating. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
