Obituary

Virginia Faye Regaldo, age 88, passed with peace and grace on Friday, June 10, 2022 with her family by her side.  She was born on June 15, 1933, in Greggton, Texas, to parents, Oda and Florence May Walker.

Virginia's childhood was spent in Lorain, Ohio surrounded by her large, loving family including 3 sisters and 2 brothers.  She married Bill Nichols, father of her children, in 1956 and became a doting mother to Stacy and Todd.  The young family resided in Robinson, Illinois for several years before relocating overseas to England and later Singapore.  She and Bill parted ways in the early 1980's but remained friends enjoying many family gatherings through the years.  She married Santos "Sam" Regaldo in 1982.  They were married for nearly 30 years until his passing. Virginia spent most of the last 40 years in Texas, with the last 17 years in San Antonio.

Virginia was a homemaker when her children were young.  She also worked as a manager in the retail industry and later became employed in hotel management for La Quinta Inn where she managed inns in Louisiana and Texas.  Virginia retired in the early 2000's, when she and Sam relocated to San Antonio.

Virginia was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was to spend time with family and friends.  She was an excellent baker, and her cream pies were legendary!  She adored dogs, children, dancing, travel, and fashion.  Virginia had a playful sense of humor and the gentlest spirit.   She was delighted by simple pleasures and found strength in her faith during challenging times.  Virginia was loved dearly and will be deeply missed.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Oda and Florence May Walker; husband, Santos "Sam" Regaldo; sisters, Mildred Sebo, Lorraine Panzau; brothers, Bob Walker, Oda "Sonny" Walker; sons-in-law, Stephen Kirkpatrick, Doug Tillinghast; grandsons, Joseph Spivey, Curtis Spivey, and father of her children, Bill Nichols.

She is survived by her two children, Stacy Nichols Chamblin, William Todd Nichols (Avis Nichols); two stepdaughters, Lydia Tillinghast, Tania Spivey; seven grandchildren, Richard Chamblin III (Ashley), Kyle Chamblin (Cara), Darlene Kirkpatrick (Kevin Turner), Joseph Nichols, Hayley Nichols; Amy Evors, Michael Spivey (Sarah); five great-grandchildren, Elliott Chamblin, Henry Chamblin, Davin Turner, Mariana Spivey, Joseph Spivey; one sister, Sondra Walker; and several beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family wishes to thank the caring teams at Embrace Hospice, and Sonterra Health Center for their loving and compassionate care.  Special thanks also to friends, Doris Newman, Beverly Yagel, and Diane Butler for their faithful friendships.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 5:30-8:00 P.M. at Heritage Oaks Mortuary, 2502 South WW White Rd, San Antonio, TX 78222.
