Velma was a great mother. She devoted her life to make certain her kids had everything they needed. She was always there for her children to listen and give straightforward advice. She embraced the role of Mother-in-Law and loved them like her own kids.
She cherished her grandchildren and spent all her free time making sure they were spoiled. She had a very special bond with her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking them swimming and shopping. Her Thursday night date nights with Julia were always the highlight of her week. She was always down for dancing in the living room with J.R. or sneaking an extra peanut butter sandwich in for a snack. Sleepovers with Alana and Gabriel typically ended up with very little sleep and a whole lot of laughing.
Velma loved all of her brats. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Christmas will not be the same without her being our Elf.
The family asks for you to bring copies of photos of Velma to the services on Friday to be put into a photo album.
