Shirley A. Hetzer entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 6. 2025 at the age of 86 years.  She was born in San Antonio on July 8, 1938, to Roy and Agnes Doris Smith. Shirley enjoyed working puzzles, card games and gardening.  Her favorite card game was playing UNO with her grandchildren.  Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Hetzer; daughter, Sherrie Ortiz; sister, Debbie Felwellin; brother, Bobby Whitaker and daughter-in-law, Gardenia Hetzer.  She is survived by her loving son, Clyde A. Hetzer; grandchildren, Jeff Sereino, Mark Hetzer and wife Ashley, Michael Hetzer, Darrell Hetzer and wife Katie, Jessica Ortiz and J.J. Ortiz; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Beverly Sutton, Louise Bailey, Jimmy Smith and wife Connie, Helen Cobb, Benny Whitaker, Sharon Purcell and husband William; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Visitation will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary on Monday, June 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 24th at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
