Robert G.
Osborne
Mar 22, 1941 — Jan 29, 2019
Robert G. Osborne, 77, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. He was born in Fresno, California on March 22, 1941, the son of the late Archie and Nellie (Mac Garva) Osborne.
Robert was an independent and hard-working man. He believed in earning everything he had. His career in plumbing began at the age of 14, when his sister found a job for him digging ditches. Motivation and determination lead him to become a Master Plumber in his early twenties. He was driven to work; he always had a job to do. He was a Plumbing Inspector for the City of San Antonio for 31 years.
He had a friendly, easy-going personality. People liked him. If he was your friend, he would do anything for you. He was a good man who had his heart in the right place. He had a soft spot for stray dogs and always had one around. As for interests and hobbies, he had a passion for racing motorcycles. Later in life, he was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed projects that involved building and creating with his hands. He found great satisfaction in carpentry and woodwork.
Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Arthur Osborne. He is survived by four children, Vincent R. Osborne (Sharla) of Post, Texas, Brenda L. Rodriguez (Tony) of Redlands, California, Michelle A. Coppola (Gregory) of Erie, Pennsylvania and Robert G. Osborne, Jr. (Vanesa) of South Mills, North Carolina, two sisters, Katherine Bigelow, Darlene McCluskey, and one brother, Richard A. Osborne (Sally), 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone who cared for him during his decline with dementia.
