Obituary

Ricky Eugene Milligan, born September 15, 1960, in Eldorado, Illinois, passed away suddenly on November 15, 2025, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Rick lived life with heart, humor, and determination. An athlete at his core, he loved sports and remained active long after high school, always enjoying the competition and camaraderie that came with it. Because his father served in the military, Rick had the unique experience of graduating from high school in Heidelberg, Germany before beginning the next chapter of his life in Texas.

It was in Texas that Rick met the love of his life, Dorothy. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed two children who were the center of Rick's world. He was a devoted husband and a proud, loving father who worked hard to provide and lead with example. His family knew him as their rock, their protector, and their biggest supporter.

Rick was known as the best bass fisherman around, always happiest near the water with a rod in his hand and a story to tell. He was also an exceptional salesman, admired for his work ethic, charisma, and the way he connected with people. To know Rick was to know someone who gave his all—whether to his family, his work, or the people he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Dorothy Milligan; his son, Joshua; his daughter, Bethany and her partner, Emily; his sister, Lora Milligan; his cousin, Tina Lindsey; and his beloved fur babies who brought him so much joy.

Above all else, Rick will be remembered for his kind heart, unforgettable laugh, and the love he poured into his family every single day. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 6, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with services beginning at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories and honor a man who gave so much love to all who knew him.

Ricky Eugene Milligan was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed and forever loved.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand
