Richard Anthony Ries, of Seguin, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the age of 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Earleen Ries and sister, Robin Ries. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol; sister, Sharon Dziuk and husband George; brother, Russell Ries and wife Dorothy; nieces and nephews, Amanda Massotti and husband Nathan, Kimberly Rose Ries, George Dziuk III and wife Monica, Thomas Dziuk, and Adam Dziuk; also numerous great nieces and great nephews. He graduated from Highlands High School in 1968. He served on the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician's Mate from 1969 to 1974. He served at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington and on USS Ranger off the coast of Vietnam. He was named Lackland AFB Employee of the Year for 1998. He retired from Civil Service in 2008. Visitation will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6th, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held St. Jerome's Catholic Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6th.
