Mark Randall
Shaw
Dec 11, 1956 — Nov 9, 2023
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that our beloved husband,
father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Mark R. Shaw entered into
eternal rest on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 66 years old. Mark was
born on December 11, 1956, to Horace and Dorothy Shaw. Mark was the
youngest of four children. He grew up learning to fish and hunt with his
brothers in Camp Wood, Tx at "The Ranch." He enjoyed sharing stories
about this special time of his youth. In high school, he was a member of
FFA raising sheep to show in competition. Where he made lifelong
friends that he stayed in touch with throughout his life. This 48 year
friendship included weekly calls that will be missed terribly.
Mark married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Beauchamp on
October 30th, 1976. They would soon add to their family a son, Randy,
and two little girls, Holly and Lindsay. Sharon and the children were Mark's
whole world.
Mark's hobbies included fishing at Choke Canyon and the Gulf Coast,
hunting in the Hill Country and West Texas, watching Westerns including all
John Wayne movies, feeding the hummingbirds on his front porch, and
listening to music. He loved the outdoors and instilled that same love in his
children and grandchildren. Mark also enjoyed cooking, baking, and
barbecuing. However, spending time with his family, grandchildren and
friends gave him the most joy.
Mark opened Shaw's Prop Shop 41 years ago, where he was known
as "Shaw" to many. He was the famous "Prop" man who could fix just about
any prop that was damaged.
Mark also served as a Law Enforcement Deputy with Bexar County,
Precinct 4, and then with East Central Police Department. He was a
Lifetime Member of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, serving on
both the Souvenir Committee and the Cowboy Church Committee for over
20 years. Every Labor Day, Mark would travel with fellow Rodeo Committee
friends to Ruidoso, New Mexico for the horse races. There were always
lots of laughs and good times on these trips.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Dorothy Mae
Shaw. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Shaw of 47 years; three
children: Randy Shaw (Dana), Holly Bloxham (Cliff), and Lindsay Lara
(Zach); six grandchildren: Skyler, Blake, Luke, Mikey, Jase and Beau;
siblings: Mike Shaw (Gale), Miki Lee (Jerry), and Billy Shaw (Gina); also,
numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family and
friends.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at
