Dearly beloved Maria Castilleja Valdez was called to join our Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 82 years of age. Maria was born to her parents Anita and Benjamin Castilleja on January 09, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. Maria enjoyed dancing and watching her grandchildren play baseball. She is survived by her companion Antonio Moreno, seven children: Janie Rios. Gregory Valdez, Edward Valdez (Maricela), David Valdez (Maria), Ann Marie Valdez, Michael Valdez (Lorie), and Feliz Gonzales (Demetrio); thirty-two grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Valdez, parents Benjamin and Anito Castilleja, granddaughter Prescilla Martinez, father-in-law Edwardo Valdez, and mother-in-law Isidra Valdez and her son baby Valdez. A viewing will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, February 04, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 05, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. interment to follow to Mission Burial Park South.
