Maria De Los Angeles Vara went into eternal rest and entered the kingdom of our lord and savior Jesus Christ on January 7, 2021. She is survived by her children, Beatrice Vara, Daniel Vara, David Vara; grandchildren, Nick, Jacob, Selena, Derek, David Jr., and Dina; brothers, Juan DeLeon, Jesse DeLeon, Felipe DeLeon, George DeLeon, Richard DeLeon, Albert DeLeon, Freddy DeLeon, Eddie DeLeon; sisters, Terry Juarez, Rosie Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel P. Vara; parents, Manuel and Josephina DeLeon; and brothers Joe and Xavier DeLeon. Maria was very religious and very strong in her Faith. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cooking for everyone. Visitation will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary on Monday, January 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will depart the funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26th for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Due to Covid19 Mandate, Mask and Social Distancing is required with a Maximum of 75 guests at the funeral home and 25 guests at the cemetery shelter.
