James L. "Bubba" Stephens entered his eternal rest on February 21, 2026, at the age of eighty-three. He was born on October 24, 1942, to parents James Lewis Stephens and Elsie T. Scruggs in West Palm Beach, Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Vi Stephens; two children, Jim D. Stephens, Michelle E. Deal (Robert); three grandchildren, James L. Stephens, Heather M. Fisher (Michael), Paige A. Hardin. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his parents, James and Elise Stephens, and sister Sherri Raines.

James is a retired MSGT from the United States Air Force and the Civil Service Member of the Masonic Lodge in Somerset, Texas. He loved sports, playing softball for USAF. Enjoyed bowling and going to tend to the cattle with his good friend John McGhee.
