Irene K. Kolonko went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Poth, Texas on March 21, 1930 to Emeryk and Elizabeth Keller. She then lived in Kosciusko, Texas until she married Peter T. Kolonko Sr. on June 14, 1949. Irene was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court #1813 where she served as a past treasurer. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a past member of the Altar Society at St. Benedict's and St. Gerard's Catholic Churches. She enjoyed stitching with her Quilting Guild members and was passionate about sewing and gardening. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Peter T. Kolonko Sr.; her parents, Emeryk and Elizabeth Keller; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Fox; great grandson, Logan Moravits. She is survived by her children, Peter Thomas Kolonko Jr., Elizabeth L. (Donnie) Vestal, Patricia E. (Fred) Pfeiffer, Rose A. (Mark) Hosek; Lee A. (Geraldine) Kolonko; grandchildren, Peter Kolonko III, Sarah (Aaron) Fox, Joshua (Valerie) Vestal, Michael (Jennifer) Vestal, Dustin (Krystal Hart) Moravits, John Moravits, Brandon (Jamie) Moravits, Ben Pfeiffer, Sarah Pfeiffer, John Pfeiffer, Ethan Pfeiffer, Marsha Hosek, Steven (Shannon) Hosek, Rebekah Hosek, Celsa (James) Garza, Emeryk Kolonko; great grandchildren, June, Jacob Fox; Grant, Jackson Vestal, Brayden, Dylan, Jaxon Moravits; Lenzie Kennedy; Adrian, Daniel, Mark Duron; Arianna Garza; sisters, Mary Adams, Patricia (Richard) Richter; brothers, Herbert (Mary Lou) Keller, William Keller, Gilbert (Mary Ann) Keller, Chester (Joyce) Keller, Gerald (Linda) Keller, Edgar (Carolyn) Keller; also numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2nd at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig, TX. A Rosary will be recited at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m., with Mass to be celebrated immediately following the Rosary. Interment will follow in St. Hedwig Catholic Cemetery.
