Obituary

Gloria Isela Aguirre, lovingly known as "Boyis," was born on October 6, 1976, in
San Antonio, Texas, to Bentura and Gregoria Mendoza Aguirre.

Gloria was the youngest of four siblings. She was a giving and loving person,
always bringing warmth, kindness, and compassion to the lives of those
around her. Gloria found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved baking
and cooking, enjoyed tea parties, and especially loved traveling.

Through her employment with SAILS, Gloria became a fervent advocate for the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). She cared deeply about equality,
accessibility, and ensuring that individuals with disabilities were treated with
dignity, respect, and fairness.

Gloria was a true animal lover, and her pets held a special place in her heart.
She adored her beloved Chihuahua, Gigi, who was a cherished companion in
her life. She also had a special bond with her gray African parrot, Pepe. Pepe
had a personality all his own and would call for Gloria whenever he found
himself in trouble, creating a special and unforgettable bond between them.

Gloria also had a special passion for owls and was an avid collector of
anything owl-themed. This unique interest was one of the many things that
made Gloria so special and memorable to those who knew her.

Gloria was preceded in death by her loving father, Bentura Aguirre.
She is survived by her beloved mother, Gregoria Mendoza Aguirre; her siblings,
Patricia (Albert) Fernandez, Laura Aguirre, and Jaime Aguirre; her nephew,
Christopher Fernandez; her nieces, Amy Fernandez and Brianna Fernandez;
her loving cousin, Alicia Lozano; and her devoted provider, Rocio Zarza. She
also leaves behind extended family members, friends, and others whose lives
were touched by her kindness, generosity, advocacy, and loving spirit.

Gloria departed this life on September 4, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Though
she is no longer with us, she will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and
forever cherished.
