Gerald A.
Ross Ii
Dec 22, 1962 — Jul 3, 2026
San Antonio
Gerald (Bubba) Ross was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charlene and Gerald Ross. And grandparents Charles and Virginia Valenta. And niece Brooke Treanor.
He proudly served his country for years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Nimitz out of Norfolk, VA. After his military service, he built a respected career as an air conditioning and HVAC technician when he graduated from St. Phillip's College. He was one of a few people that held both licenses. He ended his career at the Army Residence Retirement Community as an HVAC/Refrigeration technician and maintenance person. Anything breaks, he would fix it, day or night, in sickness & in health. He was there.
He is survived by his loving sons, Justin Ross and Charlie Ross. His brother Glenn and wife Michele and sister Chaplain Ginger and husband Pastor Aaron L. Treanor. His cherished grandchildren; Hunter, Kyle, Lily, Cora, Savanna. Other nieces & nephews; Sierra, Courtney, Brandon and Heather. Great-nieces and great-nephews, including Barrett, Brynn, Seth, Emily, Hannah, Micah, Caleb, Corey, Aubrina, and Harley, all of whom brought him great joy. And numerous friends, colleagues, kids & others whom called him Uncle Bubba.
He was everyone's BUBBA! Incredible one of a kind sense of humor like no other. Always telling jokes and sharing clips and movies. A quirky fellow with a most humble spirit and giving heart, from the day he was born. He loved food, movies, & video games. From BBQ restaurants to chicken places making world record wings, Big Lou's Pizza, or the best puffy tacos in town, he always knew where to go. He liked his food hot and spicy, against Dr. orders. Popeye's stocks are sure to drop! He never allowed his long- term health crisis to get in his way. Refusing to stop working, money just didn't matter to him. He was brave and fearless to the end. Kids were easily excited by his pranks, teasing, and video games. Seniors at the ARC (Army Resident Community of Retired) loved him as though he were their son. When others stopped caring, Bubba stepped up to bring a smile to their face and listen to their stories. He spent much of his time finding nick-knacks to please them, at those weekly estate sales. He played dominoes with them and talked with them for hours. And he always had a love for animals, especially dogs.
More than anything, Bubba will be remembered for his LOVE of people. Bubba lived by Corinthians 13. Love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited, is not selfish, not provoked, and does not keep record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, humble heart and his hardworking spirit, and the love he had for his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched through his service, kindness, and unwavering LOVE!
