Dan Sebastian Perez, Jr

July 11, 1929 – May 27, 2023

Our dearly beloved Dan S. Perez, Jr. was called to eternal life by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the age of 93.

Dan was born to Lena Cordaway Perez and Dan S. Perez, Sr. on July 11, 1929, in Karnes City, Texas.  Upon his graduation from Karnes City High School in 1950, he faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War conflict and was a proud member of the 75th Air Depot Wing.

Following his military service, Dan returned to Karnes City and married Mary Jane Martinez on August 5, 1956, at St. Cornelius Catholic Church and shortly thereafter relocated to San Antonio, Texas.  Dan worked for Samuel's Glass Company for 35 years and retired in 1993.  Steadfast in their faith, Dan and Mary were long time members of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where Dan was actively involved in various ministries, was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Post 9186.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Jane Perez; daughter Dana Paulson and husband Gary; son Patrick Perez; grandsons Daniel Perez, and Ethan and Ellis Paulson; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Lena and by his siblings.

A viewing will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary on Tuesday June 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Santo Niño Catholic Church.  Interment to follow to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Santo Nino Catholic Church. Thank you.
