Curtis Rayburn Platt Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 91 years of age. Curtis was born to his parents Charles R. and Shirley L. Platt on April 12, 1932. During his life Curtis loved fishing, and wood working. He especially loved spending quality time with his family. Curtis was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1373. He loved hummingbirds. 100% DAV. He was also on the Honor Flight #39 in May 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Ray and Shirley Long Platt, Stepmother Bernice Platt, daughter Peggy Platt, and grandson Jason Platt. He was survived by his wife Joyce L. Platt, 57 years of marriage, children: Charles Ray Platt, Sherry Kroesler (Peter), Julia Schreib (Mike), and Curtis R. Pratt; grandchildren: Matthew Platt, Isaac Platt, Derrick Grisett, Stephanie (Sunny), Jennifer, and Ariel; four great granddaughters: Sara, Hannah, Anastasia, and Samantha; and also, numerous nieces and nephews, and other members of the family. A viewing will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 12 p.m. interment will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
