Casimira Trinidad
Salazar
Mar 4, 1933 — Sep 17, 2022
Casimira Trinidad Salazar entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 89 years of age. Casimira (Casie/Cachita), was born to Felipe Trinidad and Elisa Aguilar on March 04, 1933, in Elmendorf, Texas. Casimira was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker whose priority in life was caring for her family.
Her passion in life was cooking. She, together with her beloved husband Luis, hosted several Thanksgiving dinners for military trainees who could not be home for the holidays. Christmas was always a special holiday spent with family and friends. There was always an abundance of food, to include mom's homemade tamales. The best times were had at mama's house.
She enjoyed listening to her favorite singer, Vicente Fernandez, her long conversations with her sisters and brothers, and could be heard telling secrets and laughing out loud.
Casimira was caregiver to her mother, father, and husband during their illnesses. She worked tirelessly to meet their needs throughout their final years. She was deeply devoted to her religion and instilled in her family the same. She prayed daily for God's protection over her children and grandchildren.
Casimira is survived by her children; Oscar T. Salazar (Amparo), Norma S. Doria (Samuel), Larry T. Salazar (Marilu), David L. Salazar (Margaret), Steven T. Salazar, Sandra S. Garcia (George), grandchildren; Oscar Salazar Jr., Adam Rey Salazar, Jonathan Salazar, Angela Salazar, Daniel C. Doria, Marissa E. Lopez, Stephen C. Salazar, Erica L. Salazar, Rebekah A. Vela, David Salazar, Steven W. Salazar, Lauren M. Garcia, and Sabreena R. Garcia, 9 great-grandchildren, brother; Antonio Trinidad , her beloved niece Christine Trinidad Pledger, and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; Luis S. Salazar; parents; Felipe and Elisa Trinidad; brother Guadalupe Trinidad and sisters Victoria Martinez, Eslinda Reyes, and Rosa Trinidad. A memorial service will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
A private burial service will be held at a later time.
The family would like to thank the staff at Concho Heart Hospice and a very special thank you to Melissa and Juan Martinez at Mom's House, Personal Care Home, for the kindness and special care they provided to our mother. We will be forever grateful to them and to Mrs. Juanita María Reyes Jordan who cared for our beloved mother with compassion, love, and dignity until the end.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
