Barbarita Luebano
Martinez
Apr 23, 1942 — Dec 30, 2025
Barbarita Luebano Martinez, passed away due to heart failure on
December 30, 2025 at Northeast Baptist Hospital surrounded by her
family members. She was 83 years of age. She is survived by her
siblings, children Ysidro, Jose & Esther Garza, and grandchildren,
Arnold, Nathan, Alex, Sandra, Michael and many more and many
great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jose Angel and Epihania
Luebano, her children's father and former husband, Manual Garza
Jr, her son, Manuel Garza III, and her late husband Ignacio Reyna
Martinez. She was born in Poteet, Texas and worked on farmlands as
a young girl. As she aged, she traveled to Miami, Florida, Corpus
Christi, Texas and eventually to San Antonio, Texas. As an adult
woman, she mostly worked in the food industry, mostly serving
dishes of Mexican food, from owning her own restaurant to working
for Taco Cabana for more than 20 years.
She was often admired for her strength, both physical and
mental, which at times collided in herself internally. She always
worked and always demonstrated perseverance in everything she
strived to do. In the bigger picture, it was mostly because she had a
huge heart for all close family and friends. She was the mother to
anyone that she'd meet, the grandma to anyone, and people usually
fell quickly in love with her humor, common humorous sayings, her
compassion, and more than that her significant unconditional love,
heart, and care for everyone. Even in her late marriage, she treated
everyone as if they were like anyone else to her, which was with
love… even if it was tough love, we all experienced it at one point or
another. Her former marriage also was full of compassion and love,
even if their marriage never rekindled, Manuel Garza Jr was
accepted in her home during his final weeks prior to his passing.
In her final days, loved ones that stood closely near her side were her
grandson, Arnold Rosas Jr and son, Ysidro Garza, however, there are so
many others that were never hesitant in supporting or keeping
connections with her or keeping her in their thoughts such as, and
especially, the caring family of her grandson, Arnold Rosas Jr's father's
side of the family of Arnold Rosas Sr, her grandchild, Nathan Solorzano's
family, her grandchild Alex Garza, and many other grandchildren or
relatives that were never without genuine concerns for her. Extended
family members also connected with her as much as possible and
continued to express their love, even with the sound of their voices.
