Antonio "Tony" Castanon Cantu went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the age of 89 years.  He was born in Seguin, Texas on December 5, 1935 to Alfredo and Evangelina Castanon Cantu.  Tony enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf and fishing.  He was a Lifetime Member of the VFW Post #9186, but above all, Tony was a very loving grandfather to his five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, John Anthony Cantu.  Tony is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria Stuart Cantu; son, Michael A. Cantu and his wife, Vanessa; grandchildren, Colby Alexander Cantu and his wife Kayla, Kendall Alise Cantu, Caiden Avery Cantu, Ayden Michael Cantu and Adrian Michael Cantu; sister, Evangelina Cantu; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation for Tony will be held at Heritage Oaks Mortuary on Tuesday, June 10th, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 11th at 12:30 p.m.  Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
