A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Alfredo G. Holguin Jr. passed away on September 16, 2018.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 21, 1938, to Maria and Alfredo Holguin, he was one of five children. He married the love of his life, Guadalupe Holguin, in November of 1958. Alfredo served in the U.S. Navy and completed his education at Southwest Texas University in 1993.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Guadalupe; daughters, Patricia Guzman (Leonard); Christina Ortega (Edward); and son Alfredo Holguin III (Scarlet) ; six grandchildren, Debra Fletcher (Brian) ; Stephanie Pugh (Michael) ;Megan Maskill (Randy); Daniel, Tiger, and Aaden Ortega, and three great-grandchildren: Alexis, Wyatt, and Aria.

He also is survived by: Henrietta Magallan, Elida Russell (Robert), and David Holguin (Gloria) ; and numerous nieces and nephews he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Kathy.

Visitation 5 – 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Bierschwale Family Heritage Oaks. A private burial will occur at Fort Sam Houston at a later date.
