Alex Joe Shelton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the age of 53 years. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 16, 1967. Alex loved spending time with his family and was a very giving person. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Joe Shelton Jr. and Abel Shelton, grandfathers; Alejos Gutierrez and Elmer Shelton, grandmothers; Eloisa Gutierrez and Eva Shelton, uncle; Ralph Gutierrez and Emilio Espinoza, aunts; Modesta Espinoza, Eloisa Cruz and Amalia Alcorta. Alex is survived by his parents; Joe and Angelita Shelton, sister; Betty Martinez (Edward), nephews and nieces; Edward Abel Martinez (Maria), Sabrina Martinez (Thomas) and Moses Martinez (Charity), 6 great nephews and nieces, uncles; Erasmo Cruz and Romeo Gutierrez, aunts; Eliodora Gamboa (Benny), Debbie Gutierrez, Gloria Delgado (Tony) and Annafay McDonald.

Visitation will be at Heritage Oaks Mortuary on Tuesday, September 01, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with a Chapel service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at El Carmen Catholic cemetery.

Due to COVID19 mandates, limited seating capacity will be available at the funeral home and at the graveside. Face coverings will be required at the funeral home and cemetery.
